Notice what's absent in weeks one and two — mileage targets. You are not trying to hold onto marathon volume. Calibrate by Effort, Not Just the Calendar

Half marathon recovery runs two to three weeks, not four to six, because the eccentric muscle damage and glycogen depletion involved are meaningfully lower. That's not a proportional one-third of the marathon timeline — it's roughly half of it, and the difference matters if you're planning your next block.
