Stomach Pain While Running
by Allison
(Miami, FL)
I have tried to start running, unsuccessfully, many times. When I try to jog, I feel like I have good technique, I pace myself and I breathe correctly.
But after a few minutes I get an unbearable pain in my upper stomach just under my rib cage on one side.
I have asked around and I have been given tons of different answers (e.g. too much water, incorrect stretching, not pacing myself, etc) I try to run through it, but it is very, very painful.
What should I do?
Answer by Dominique:
Hi there,
Thank you for your question. This is likely to be the result of your breathing pattern.
Your spleen gets pulled into two different directions, causing cramps.
Please see the answer provided to these questions for more information:

Stomach Cramps (Again!)
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
