Gary a Runner in TX
by Gary Cooper
(Irving, TX)
Gary
I started running at 38 on the day day I quit smoking. At first I couldn't even get around the block without getting out of breath.
I started by jogging past a couple houses, then
resumed walking to complete the run. Day after day I added more houses. In time I could make the entire (1/2 half a mile) block without slowing to a walk.
Month after month I continue to add distance. After a year, I entered my first 4-miler race. To date I've ran in well over 100 races over the past two decades.
I continue to encourage others to run, so they can lead a more healthful life.
In 2001 I ran 38th overall in the Ft Worth Cowtown Marathon, being 4th in my age division 45-59. Stop by my site at www.RunningRunnersRun.com.
