What is the meaning of "PR"? I have been running since 3 months. Twice a week I run 18 kms in 1:40. Other four days of the week, aprox 13 to 15 kms. Which is my "PR" and what does it mean?
Answer by Dominique:
Hi Martin, Great to hear that after only three months of running you are running such distances. You must have had some "pre-developed" fitness from other sports or a real aptitude for the sport.
"PR" means personal record. It is your personal best time in a certain distance, usually measured in races. If your fastest time on that 18km is 1 hr 40 mins you could regard that as your PR, but normally in your training runs you would not go "all out" as you would in a race.

Start doing some races over shorter distances, e.g. 5k and 10k races. They are a lot of fun and especially when you have just started running it will be easier to break your personal records race after race after race.
Hope this explains it. Best of luck with your running. Kind regards, Dominique
