Running Times Magazine is where you can go when you wish to cut a minute or two or more off your personal speed record.
Really, it is the place you wish to turn when you want to train like a pro or win your entry in a big race.
This magazine is the one that features more professional approaches to the subject of running and is a vital help to those interested in wondering how to run safely and know that running remains a great hobby to take part in.
If you want to do your absolute best, this is the magazine to read. You can take the tips found within its pages and take their running to the next level.
The articles present much more serious information and the strategy will help turn those that are passionate runners and potentially make them into champions.
The Difference between Running Times Magazine and Runner's World
While Running Times Magazine and the very popular companion magazine Runner's World are owned and published by the same company (Rodale), Running Times is the magazine that the front of the pack runners will purchase and read religiously.
This is the magazine you will explore when you want information on everything from improving time and speed to tips on what running shoes and training gear you should purchase.
The magazine is also a tremendously valuable resource for tips on diet and nutrition which are both often instrumental to success.
Any runner that is serious about improving their time and placing in the top 5 of a race or securing placement in the Boston marathon needs to focus on proper diet and nutrition.
With the right foods, it becomes possible to reach the finish line in an easier manner. Consider this a major reason why the info found in the pages of this magazine on the subject of diet to be significantly helpful.
The prime difference between Running Times Magazine and its colleague Runner's World is that Running Times is aimed at the more serious runner and Runner's World is aimed at the more recreational runner.
The Transition from Runner's World to Running Times Magazine
The readers of Runner's World usually eventually become dedicated followers of Running Times Magazine. As soon as the running bug bites, people will start purchasing Runner's World. Over time the information in the magazine becomes more familiar, less new and helpful.
That's usually when you would change to Running Times. This magazine provides you with more targeted training advice, but with less of the motivating, inspirational stories that make Runner's World into such a great magazine.
Upcoming races and coverage of previously finished races are prominently featured in the magazine. The top races are always covered with stats and in depth info. However, some of the smaller -- and popular -- races held around the country are also covered as.
High School and college events are also covered in the magazine to a decent degree as well. Many professionals and serious competitors have an interest in such events since they may have started their careers during their school years.
While some of the issues of Running Times Magazine can be a little to the thin side compared to Runner's World, the information is more technical and could prove crucial to helping you succeed with your running.
I like both magazines for different reasons.
As a fanatical runner, I often find myself buying both Runner's World and Running Times magazine.
They are not competing magazines, they complement eachother really well.
