Newton Running Shoes for Women - Reviews
The woman who is serious about running needs to experience Newton Running shoes.
They protect your feet, maximize your energy, and guide you to different running habits.
They hold no fewer than nine patents and come from a company with a proven philosophy about running shoes.
Newton Running Shoes: The Science of Barefoot Running
Here’s why they make a difference. When most people run, they land on the heel of the foot. Newton Running has studied the most effective running strategy, and you can experience it if you go outdoors into a grassy yard or park and run barefoot.
You will feel a natural inclination to run such that the ball of your foot strikes the ground first. That part of your foot, called the metatarsal, is engineered to absorb the shock of impact better than any other part of the foot. This is similar to dancers, who land on the balls of their feet.
The Stress on Your Feet
On a daily basis, women’s feet undergo so much more stress than men’s. Shoe styles for business or social occasions force the foot into unnatural positions. And right now, while you’re still able to walk around in high heels or platforms, you don’t notice how those types of shoes have a tendency to throw your entire leg forward in a way that puts your back out of alignment and deposits uneven pressure on your knees. You can offset those disadvantages by putting your foot into a shoe designed for healthy foot posture whenever you get a chance.
Newton Running Designers
The designers at Newton have come up with shoes that help your feet learn a different way of running. First, these shoes eliminate heel striking. You’ll gradually learn to land on the midfoot or forefoot. Second, if you are among the women whose feet turn toe-inward while walking or running — this is called pronation — you’ll be able to stop that.
The shoe also halts a tendency to land on the outer sides of the feet. By overcoming those bad habits, you’ll be less prone to injury while running and you’ll actually gain strength in the ankles. Your feet will become stronger. And many people who wear Newtons notice an end to their plantar fasciitis discomfort.
The company’s shoe designs are based on the energy laws of Sir Isaac Newton. His first three laws of physics stated that all objects in motion tend to remain in motion — just as those in rest remain at rest. That all acceleration is the product of mass and force. And that any energy exerted into an object will be returned by that object.
The design, with a lower heel-to-toe drop as well as kinetic actuator lugs in the metatarsal section of the sole, means that when your foot strikes the ground the shoe enables it to push back off the ground with a 58% return of energy. You’ll experience less friction and more mobility. The foam layer crosses the sole of the shoe to correct pronation and foot position. And all Newton shoes are incredibly lightweight.
Some Newton Running Shoes
The Women’s Stability Trainer offers a design to take you through the changes you need to make in your run. These innovative shoes require a period of adjustment, and these are the shoes that will teach your foot to hit metatarsal first and land symmetrically. You’ll find wonderful forefoot cushioning to protect your feet.

You can also try the Neutral Racer, in Athletes-for-the-Cure pink, for a shoe that lets you ratchet up speed without sacrificing your feet. They feature a forefoot flex groove that gives you that running-barefoot sensation.

The Women’s All Weather Trainer is ergonomically designed with mesh uppers for less wind resistance, and you’ll find the rubber sole and midfoot foam engineered to protect you from cold and wet. They have an antibacterial lining that wicks moisture away from your skin. They are breathable and fast-drying, and everything about the shoe—and its packaging—is ecologically sound.

Some Other Newton Running Shoes for Women
The design ideas behind Newton running shoes are definitely interesting.
I am not yet sold on the idea of each and everyone of us becoming toe-strikers instead of heel-strikers.
But if you are a natural toe-striker or are interested in this way of running (often also called chi running), then Newton Running shoes are exactly the shoes for you.
