When you start to run a bit further, you may wish to consider taking a watter bottle or another hydration option with you on the run.
You may want to take water, or a sports drink or even, for even longer runs, some nutrition like energy gels or small bits of powerfood.
When looking for hydration / nutrition options you may wish to consider whether you wish to carry a bottle in your hands or not and how many bottles you think you'll need.
From the articles reviewed below the fuel belts are my preferred option, especially the four-bottle one. It allows you to distribute the weight quite evenly and as such allows you to carry enough with you without it ever getting really inconvenient.
RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt
The RoadRunnerSports Speed 4 Energy belt holds four 10-ounce nutrition/hydration flasks. When you need to go a little bit further, the lightweight Speed 4 Energy Belt comes to the rescue. There are some pockets in the belt to hold valuables as well.
The Camelbak .75L bottle has got a new bite valve which contains an inner straw. This makes it pretty much impossible to spill your drink on the run. It has an easy-carry handle, is dishwasher safe, and made with taste-free plastic.
The Elite 1 Plus Hydration Pak is a light weight hydration pack. It lets you carry a 22-ounce bottle and a 5-ounce nutrition flask (both included when you purchase the pak). The holders (insulated) are angled for more convenient access. It also has a zippered pocket to store some essentials.
The RoadRunnersports Speed 2 Energy belt lets you carry two 10-ounce ergnonomcic flasks (included) filled with your beverage of choice (or gel/nutrition). It has molded holsters for easy access and also has a stash pocket for any other essentials you may wish to carry with you when you run.
