It has a chest strap heart rate monitor and online training features.
Garmin Forerunner 405cx - Connectivity
The Garmin Forerunner 405cx is both Mac and PC compatible, tracked through Ant+ software, allowing for the devices to work together.
The watch comes with Garmin onnect online and the desktop Garmin Training Center, featuring data tracking, workout and goal planning.
Within 20 feet of the computer, the data from the watch is automatically downloaded to the computer and any new goals and training information is uploaded to the watch.
Garmin Forerunner 405cx - Functionality
The Garmin Forerunner 405cx can function in low-power mode for up to 2 days or in high-power satellite mode for up to 8 hours without charging. It has touch-bezel controls making for easy toggling between screens.
The 405 tracks heart rate, foot falls, distance, elevation, and speed, as well as having information to aid you in reaching workout and running goals while on course.
While it is possible for the watch to take up to 2 minutes to acquire satellite lock, it usually finds its target within 30 seconds and maintains the connection even on the toughest terrain.
Google Maps for Easier Tracking
Connecting online has now added features such as Google maps, which allows for easier tracking of route, distance, and elevations.
Map, satellite, and terrain views are available and you can zoom into targeted areas.
The Virtual Partner stores routes and compares you against your previous workout or a set goal.
And with the Ant+ technology, it can compare your data with other runners on the trail.
Foot pod or cadence tracking for biking is available, and the watch comes in black or green.
The Garmin Forerunner 405cx is simply the ultimate there is in GPS running watches today. Nuff said!
