Love it! use it all the time for many activities. Run, bike, canoe, roller ski, x-country ski. Had it for couple years now and still working flawlessly. Use many options. get this one over the 405 - until they get that one working better.

Love hate relationship..... Most of the time I have been very satisfied and it has aided my training. I have completed 4 marathons with it. At 9 months, the chest strap HRM died. It actually started getting very hot on my chest during runs. Garmin replaced it at no cost. Right now I am 1 week past t...

Have had the 305 for almost a year with no problems. Have used it in 3 countries and in various states east to west coast. Linked nicely with foot pod for running indoors when weather is to cold to get a good run in.

Awesome product. Performed flawlessly so far in marathons on three continents. I even took it on vacation drives and tours in Europe. Using "MotionBased" (free), I have been downloading google-map (KML) files to send to family members who can then follow my trips virtually. Worked even on a plane ri...

I LOVE this product. I have used it for more than three years now. It helped me train for and complete a marathon. I have used it in several different cities and it always finds the satellites within a few minutes and starts tracking just like when I'm at home. I also like how you can customize what...

This is one of the coolest gadgets I've ever used. I've been using this Forerunner for almost 2 years now. You can easily customize the display to view a variety of data. Good job Garmin!

A must have for anyone training for long distance (halfs or marathons). I've used several combinations of HRM and GPS systems...none compare to the 305. Easy to use and all of the data in one package. It helps to combine pace and HRM in one easy display to guide you in guaging your PEL. I was ov...

I'm not a major gadget person, but I really liked this. I went to Kauai, to Scotland & Ireland, back to Kauai, to the Sequoias and then to New York... it worked great the entire time. I ran as far as 13 miles and it kept up great. I wish it kept altitude, and in truth, I haven't tried any of the ...

I love it. It is the ultimate training tool. It gives more stats than you really need. I've have not experienced any problems with it when I have travelled. My only negative comment is that the elevation stat is sometimes completely off. I can also add that this product also works when submerged int...

As far as tracking where you're at, how fast your going, and how far you went, this thing is pretty awesome. You can even download a free tool called foreconv that will allow you to lay your route for free over GoogleEarth. Distance out in the open is spot on but I think it starts lagging a little...

This watch/HRM/GPS unit is incredible. I have used it extensively over the past 6 months, and don't know how I trained without it. It has so many capabilities, there are too many to list. However, I always know what my performance is before and after every run. I've also used the GPS to find my ...

Overall, a good product in terms of features and ease of use, but I'm not so sure about the knowledge of the folks over at customer support. I've had mine for about a year, and had to send it in for repair because it died in the middle of a triathlon and it won't power back on without being plugged ...

The 305 is awesome. The GPS, Navigation, HRM, & training capabilities of the 305 surpasses all other GPS training units currently on the market. Combined with Motion Based GPS tracking on the web, and Google Earth (KML files), this little wrist watch is in a category of its own. It tracked my Mar 4t...

Terrible, especially if you're a traveller. The receiver needs to re-locate satellites every time you move over 100+ miles, and mine would take over 10 minutes to find satellites and often lose that signal. I finally returned mine after running a route I mapped out at 8 miles and had the 305 repor...

I am a casual runner (2 or more miles 3 to 4 days a week). I do not run long distances and I am not training for a specific event. However, I am interested in making sure that I do run at least two miles at least every other day. And, I hate doing the same path over and over again (what's the fun in...

Awesome product. User friendly. Much better compare to Timex bodylink system. Less item to be clip on to my body or to be carry with me during my runs. And I don't have to purchased an additional $70.00 item to be able to download my activities data from the watch to my computer. Very easy to downlo...

Best GPS product around. I have used both Timex Bodylink and Suunto T9 systems and the 305 is just better. It's easy to use and reliable, among the most well designed products I have used ever! I use it for Triathlons (great multisport function), marathons, and MTB and all the required training.

Reasonably accurate on long hikes, runs; even in mountains of Japan; but useless in measuring ascent/descent.

Living in Los Angeles, I was impressed by how accurate and consistent the GPS was on my routes. I have only one complaint but its significant: the Forerunner 305 makes my wrist hurt. I've had it almost a year now with very little probelms. I've only lost reception a couple of times (through tunnels). I used to use the polar 625 and had to re-calibrate it every time I changed shoes or batteries. No re-cal with this. Just waiting for the foot pod so I can track with it on the ...
