My son recently started cross country running at his high school. Should he be wearing a soft cup during his running distance?
Answer by Dominique:
Hi Kathi,
Thank you for your cross country running question. In my opinion, I don't think a soft cup is necessary. That kind of equipment is probably more warranted in contact sports like football.
As long as his fellow contestants don't start throwing footballs at him or try to wrestle him to the ground, I'd say that he'd be fine in his running shorts with or without undies, whatever he feels is most comfortable.

Hope this helps and best of luck with the cross country running endeavours of your son. Cheers, Dominique
