The Adidas miCoach Pacer
is one of the more innovative products we can now choose to check heart
rate, speed and distance.
It also allows you to track your calories burned.
The way it works is not like we traditionally see, i.e. via watch. This
one works via a
voice that regularly tells you about your speed,
distance, heart rate etc.
It is a good help to keep you on target with your workout goals.
Adidas miCoach Features
The device comes included with:
a heart rate sensor
a pacer unit
a stride sensor
an online workout manager that can track and plan
your workout.
When choosing workout plans through the miCoach website, the unit also
charges via a USB cord to either a Mac or Pc computer.
Adidas miCoach - Listen to Music While Running
The device is also compatible with most music players as it comes with
a 3.5mm audio jack, allowing you to plug in your iPod or other
compatible music players of your choice.
When running with music, make sure to not turn it up too loud. First of
all, your ears will thank you fifty years from now. Second, drowning
out traffic noise is a sure way to get into an accident sooner or later!
Would It Be My Choice?
Honestly spoken, no. However, that does not mean it is not for you.
What I simply don't like, is running with earplugs. I don't like
listening to music when I run.
I prefer to have a quick glance at my Garmin
heart rate monitor to check on my pace or heart
rate.
Especially when going faster I find it hard to concentrate on listening
to the instructions as well.
But anyway, that's me, let that not stop you from getting the Adidas
miCoach. It might be the right tool for you!
Track Your Fitness Progress with the Adidas
miCoach Pacer
The Adidas miCoach Pacer
makes it easy to track your fitness progress - from the data uploaded
from the pacer to your computer.
Workout calendars and projected goals can be plotted and arranged with
ease.
This is helpful and is basically the same functionality as you get with
Garmin Connect, Polar and the others.
By the way, simply using the pacer with the online manager usually
provides enough
time to keep the internal battery charged. A fully charged battery can
last up to 10 hours. Sometimes you will have to charge it separately,
but not that often.
The stride sensor's battery isn't rechargeable and does need replacing
occasionally.
It plans your workout goals through
the workout calendar.
It monitors heart rate, distance and speed.
And it comes with all the online functionality that all the big brands
now offer.
All in all, it is not bad value for money and
a good choice when you are used to running with music / ear plugs.
If not, then I would not get it and look at another heart rate monitor.
My heart rate monitor is a Garmin Forerunner 405cx.
Kind of pricey when I got it, but since they have brought out some newer models it has come heaps down in price!

When you are a runner, you are doing intervals. The Gymboss is a really clever and cheap piece of running gear that makes interval running a lot more comfortable. Check out the Gymboss review to find out why.
