Best Running Tips Newsletter, Issue #013 -- Hills and Updates

Welcome to the Best Running Tips Newsletter !

In previous issues of this newsletter I have mentioned that running in Australia is different to running in Holland, where I am originally from.
Holland is extremely flat.

Compared to that every run in Australia is hilly.

In the beginning this made running a lot harder for me. I am sure you would experience the same thing. However, as you do it more and more it becomes easier.

Your legs get stronger.

You know better how to run on hills.

There is a whole psychological aspect to conquering hills as well...

One of my main runs includes a continuous climb of about 30-35 minutes. Not so steep, but consistently up. Talk about the psychological aspect of running... it is a real killer. I love it... :)

After my last race, which involved a few hills as well I was once again convinced that hill running is an incredibly good exercise. I flew up those hills... well, maybe I didn't exactly but I went a lot faster than many of my fellow competitors...
